Introduction

School-laboratory Novy Vzglyad (New Look) for 430 students will be built on the territory of the multifunctional residential complex Garden Quarters. The Garden Quarters project began at the end of 2006 with the organization of a closed international competition for the development of the territory of the former Kauchuk plant, as a result of which Sergey Skuratov Architects became the winner of the competition and the general designer of the quarter.
The composition of the complex forms around the rectangular central square with a pond, uniting the four closed residential quarters with own courtyards, playgrounds and sports grounds. Unlike closed courtyards, the central square of Garden Quarters and the lower floors of the buildings surrounding it are given to urban infrastructure facilities and make up an open, public space.
It is in this open central space that the school building emerges — the only public building in the Garden Quarter complex. The school was initially assigned one of the main roles in the ensemble composition. That is why it differs in significance and architectural solutions from all other buildings, its appearance, starting with the first versions of the project, is distinguished by a combination of transparent lightness and energy directed towards the future.
